Community Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 3

Hello from beautiful downtown New Salem. I hope you've all had a wonderful week.

Tickets are on sale for a homemade quilt and three accent pillows, donated by Irene Morris. The tickets are $2 each or three for $5. You can call Gina Neves 902-392-2012 to get tickets or she can let you know of someone else who has tickets. Proceeds are for Advocate School Hot Lunch and will be drawn for on Dec. 14 at the school Christmas concert.

On Friday, Nov. 25 Spencer's Island Bingo will be held at the Advocate Fire Hall at 7 p.m. Come on out for an evening of fun.

On Saturday, Nov. 26 the Downshore Christmas Market will be held at the log building on Mills Road from 9 a.m. to noon.

On Saturday, Nov. 26 a memorial service will be held for Daniel Spicer at the log building on Mills Road from 3-5 p.m. It will be followed by a memorial dance at the Advocate Fire Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

On Saturday, Dec. 3 the A.D.D.A. annual community Christmas party will be held at the log building on Mills Road at 6 p.m. Bring your children, grandparents, friends, neighbours for an evening of Christmas fun.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6 the annual Chignecto Manor Christmas Party will be held at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

On Saturday, Dec. 17 a Christmas musical evening will be held at the log building on Mills Road from 7-9:30 p.m. Music will be by Dave Baker & Friends, Ron Byers, Rob Bentley, Jim Ellis, John Melanson, Connie Ells and Elaine Baker. There will be a 50/50 draw and canteen. A free will offering will be taken at the Door. Come on out for a fun Christmas evening.  Proceeds are for the A.D.D.A.

The Advocate United Church services are now being held at Chignecto Manor for the winter at 8:30 a.m.
