Proceeds support Pugwash food bank

PUGWASH – Pugwash Communities in Bloom is busy preparing for its second TreeFest at Pugwash District High School on Dec. 2 from 12 to 2 p.m.

Communities in Bloom are inviting community groups to decorate a theme-based tree and have it judged by those attending the two-hour celebration that will help kick off the Christmas season in the village

There will be music and refreshments.

Admission is free, but donations of canned and non-perishable food would be welcome.

Last years inaugural event featured 13 trees from various groups and businesses in the village. The trees were later sold, along with the decorations, with proceeds going to support the Pugwash food bank.

One of those participating last year was Cunningham Construction with a tree decorated with old measuring tape, nails, Styrofoam, wiring and PVC piping. Rumour has it Mike Cunningham is designing a tree with a motorcycle theme for this years festival.
