There's a chilly nip in the air at the Lillian Allbon Cumberland County Animal Shelter. Barnaby here and as we prepare for cooler weather we are thankful to the Porchlight Restaurant in Parrsboro for providing us with our one-by-three strapping and plastic for all of our outdoor catteries.
This will allow our cats to be protected from the wind and cold when they go in their outside play areas. PetValu in Amherst collected donations for the shelter all October and the total of all the monetary donations, food, litter, cat and dog toys and so on given to us was $2,554.86!
Thank you to PetValu and to all of you who picked up something for us!
Congratulations to cat Jasmine as she went to a wonderful home. Our puppies Beanie, Gummy and Judith all were adopted and pup Punchy went to the canine service training program at the Nova Institute in Truro. Happy tails to all!
Remember we still have long time resident dogs Shadow and Haven at the shelter and dogs Quinn, Charli and Oreo. These dogs deserve love and we hope they find homes soon.
The Amherst Veterinary Hospital has a selection of used books for sale with all proceeds to the shelter. Thank you!
Remember if you want to stop by our shelter we are open daily between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m. Or you can call us at 902 661 PAWS.
That's all for now, until next time keep your tail in the air and your heart open wide and don't forget us here at the LA Animal Shelter.
We are the little shelter with the big heart.
Shelter Tales appears bi-weekly in the Amherst News.
