Turkey Soup Luncheon

St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, in Springhill will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m.

Pancake Supper

A pancake supper will be held at Immanuel United Church 25 Hickman St. noon 6pm

Pancakes, maple syrup, beans, sausages, brown bread, biscuits and cakes.

Winter Carnival

Advocate & District Volunteer Fire Dept second annual Winter Carnival, 11a.m. to 2 p.m., Flea Market, Games of Chance, Cake Walk, Canteen Facilities and at 7:00 p.m. Musical Entertainment all at the Advocate Fire Hall.

Pancake supper

The Nappan United Church will host its annual pancake day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pancakes, sausages, beans, maple syrup, sweets and tea and coffee.


A benefit for Robert Hurley, who is battling cancer, will be held at the Maccan Legion beginning at 7 p.m. The event will feature local talent, a silent auction, 50/50 draw and more.


The R.C.A.F. Assoc. 105 Cumberland Wing, Havelock St. is having a Crib Tournament.Registration at 1 and play starts at 1:30. Bring a partner or come alone. Inquiries 667-9262


The Knights of Columbus will host a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the K of C hall on Robie Street, Amherst. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, toast.

Monster Puppet Show

A Monster Puppet Show will take place from 10-11 a.m. at the Amherst Library. Join them for some puppet fun. All ages

The Cumberland County Riders ATV Club’s regular meeting will be held at 7 pm in the Brookdale Church Hall.

Science Day will take place from 10:30-12

Read away fines

Read away your fines at the Springhil library from 2 to 7 p.m. for Grades 7-12. One day only students with fines will be able to drop into the Springhill Library ,

Guest speaker

The Cumberland County Geneology Centrewill have Dr. Jennifer Harris of Mt. A. as its guest speaker at 7 at Trinity St. Stephen United Church in Amherst. Her topic will be Westmorland’s 19th century black residents. It’s mainly about the families that resided in Aulac on `Green Hill` whom many moved into

Cumberland County area .

Read Away Your Fines

You can Read Away Your Fines from noon to 5 p.m. One day only students in grades 7-12 can read for 30 minutes and have their fines forgiven at the Amherst Library.

Movie Night - Amherst

Teen Movie Night will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The Amherst Library will be showing “Easy A” starring Emma Stone. Grades 7-12. Rated PG-13.

The Springhill Library will host movie day from 2:30-3:30 p.m. for Ages 5-12

Camp TAWASI is having a pancake breakfast at Humphrey Memorial United Church in Moncton from 7 to 11 a.m. Admission a donation to camp. There will also be a bake table. All proceeds towards the camps operating cost.
