Truro Lions track team strut their stuff at Moncton meet

TRURO - The Truro Lions further cemented themselves as a top team at the recent Moncton Open Indoor Track Meet.
Nathan Burris set a new juvenile weight toss record with a 16.36m throw, while several of his teammates also put in strong performances. Peter Millman threw 16.12m in the juvenile weight toss while Greg Hingley reached 14.36m.
Matthew Hignley put on a 10.95m performance in the midget division and Sarah Millman upped her personal best to 10.06 in the girls competition. Kayla Gallagher made an 8.84m toss. Peter Millman won the juvenile shot put competition at 13.23m with club mates Robert Kennedy, Greg Hingley and Burris placing second, third and fourth respectively. Matthew Hingley, with a 10.44m effort, won the midget shot put and Kayla Gallagher took the title in the juvenile girls category with a 10.70m throw. Sarah Millman won the midget girls division at 8.84m.
The Lions are competing at a meet Sunday at Dalhousie University.
