District track and field championships set for today and tomorrow

OXFORD - Hundreds of high school track and field athletes will gather today and tomorrow at the Northumberland Athletic Park in Oxford for the Cumberland district track and field meet.
Athletes who are successful at the districts will move on to the regionals next week in Truro and some of those athletes will then move on to the provincials the following week in Dartmouth.
The schedules for the track and field events are as follows:
Track events
All events start with the junior girls, then work their way through the junior boys, intermediate girls, intermediate boys, senior girls and senior boys.
Today
Hurdle finals: 9:30-11 a.m.
400-metre finals: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
100-metre heats: 1-2:30 p.m.
1,500-metre finals: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
100-metre finals: 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Tomorrow
200-metre heats: 9:30-11 a.m.
800-metre finals: 11 a.m.-noon.
4x100-metre relays: noon-1:30 p.m.
200-metre finals: 1:30-2 p.m.
3,000- and 5,000-metre finals: 2-3:30 p.m.
4x400-metre relays: 3:30-5 p.m.
