LONDON - An official says two medallists are among the six athletes who turned up positive in retests of doping samples from the Beijing Olympics.
The official tells The Associated Press the tests caught three track and field athletes, two cyclists and one weightlifter.
The official says one of the track and field athletes is a male who won one gold medal. The other medallist was in cycling.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the names haven't been officially released by the International Olympic Committee.
The Italian Olympic Committee says one of the six was an Italian athlete. The Italian news agency ANSA identified him as cyclist Davide Rebellin, silver medallist in the road race.
