Pugwash squad dumps Inverness to capture Division IV crown

Pugwash -

For the second year in a row the Pugwash Panthers are the senior girls division four provincial champions.

They earned the title after beating Inverness by a score of 62-51 in the Championship game last weekend at Pugwash District High School.
Leading the way for the championship team was Cora Campbell with 24 points.
Also contributing in the points department were Taylor White and Amber MacDougall with 11 points each, Leah MacDonnell with 10, Michelle Alkema with eight, Toni McKellar and Bobbi Willigar with seven each, Kaitlyn Thompson with six, Courtney Matthews and Shelby Tuttle with four points each, Matina Jost and Melanie Poirier with three each, Kelsey Watson with two points and Alex MacLean with one point.
To make it to the championship, Pugwash defeated North Colchester by a score of 59-47.
In that game it was White leading the Panthers with 14 points, followed by Willigar and Thompson with 10 points each, Karli Boyd had eight points, Alkema had seven, Jost with six and Matthews and McKellar with two points each.
Oxford came in third place at the tournament by defeating North Colchester by a score of 75-40.
Leading the Golden Bears with 21 points was Maddison Swan, Meagan Graves scored 16 points, Erin Dorn had 13, Nicole Cotton had nine,
Laurena Moore with five, Brooke Gordon with four, Paige Black with three and Casey Perrin and Karen Brookins with two points apiece.
