KINGSTON, Jamaica Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt isnt interested in world sprint records at this point in his career. He wants to win championships.

I dont run for records, the Jamaican sprinter said recently. I have the world records, so I have no thought of breaking it, as long as its mine.

Bolt was dominating in Beijing where, a day before the 200-metre final, he told journalists that he was going all out for the world record. He had already won the 100 metres in 9.69 seconds for his first world record, but appeared to slow down the final 10 metres.

He didnt do that in the 200, cruising to a record time of 19.30 seconds.

After also running the third leg on the gold medal-winning 400-meter relay team in Beijing, Bolts goal is now to win the sprint double at next years world championships in Berlin.

I just go out and compete, he said. If I get a world record, I get a world record.
