A pair of Swift Current soccer products received some impressive honours following their outdoor soccer season with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.

Derrick Hammel and Allan Siwela were both named to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association All-Conference Team after helping the Rattlers to a 6-0-4 record in the regular season and bronze medal finish in the playoffs.

Hammel, a third-year striker, who honed his craft in the Swift Current Foresters United and Swift Current Comp. Colts programs, finished second in ACAC league scoring with six goals. He was also named the ACAC Athlete of the Week during the season.

Siwela, who hails originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, but played his final year of club and high school soccer in Swift Current, started every game as a rookie midfielder. Siwela scored three goals on his way to being named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association All-Canadian in addition to his ACAC All-Conference Team status. Siwela also received Rattler of the Week honours during the season.
