Ardens move to 6-0

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens moved within one win of clinching top spot in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League with a 10-0 win over the host Moose Jaw Central Cyclones on Tuesday.

The Ardens moved to 6-0 with two games left in the regular season as they attempt to become the first team to three-peat in league history.

Cassidy Andres paced the offense with three goals and three assists, while her attacking partner, Kaity Letwiniuk, added a hat trick of her own and two assists.

Brittany Schafer added a goal and an assist in her return from illness, while Emilie Erlandson, Andrea Erlandson, and Cassandra Furey-Cameron, with her first career goal from the penalty spot, also added goals.

Kelsey Therrien and Daelin Bakken chipped in assists. Bakken and Beriah Klein shared the shutout as the Ardens have now out-scored their league opponents 50-5.

The Ardens will look to lock up top spot and a bye into the semi-finals when they host the AE Peacock Tornadoes on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at Irwin Field in their final home game of the season.
