The Swift Current Comp. Ardens took sole possession of top spot in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League with a 6-2 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits on Tuesday.
Grade 12 striker Kaity Letwiniuk led the Ardens with three goals and one assist as the Ardens improved to 3-0 in the regular season and 5-0 overall.
Cassidy Andres added two goals and helped set up a pair of Letwiniuk’s goals as well.
Britney Cleaveley capped the win with her first goal in an Ardens uniform to put the hosts ahead 6-0 in the 63rd minute.
Rookie Andrea Erlandson set up a pair of goals, while Tara Kirkpatrick chipped in a single assist as Cassandra Furey-Cameron earned the win in goal. The Ardens allowed a pair of late goals to snap their shutout streak at 363 minutes to open the season.
The Ardens will be in Moose Jaw this weekend for the 16-team Soccerfest Tournament.
They will be back at home next Tuesday when they host Moose Jaw Central at 4:30 p.m. at Irwin Field.
