The Swift Current Comp. Ardens have posted four straight shutouts to open the season.
The Swift Current Comp. Ardens posted a pair of shutout wins on the road to open the 2011 season in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League.
The two-time defending champions defeated the Weyburn Eagles 1-0 and the Estevan Elecs 12-0 on Saturday in Moose Jaw.
Tara Kirkpatrick helped the Ardens past Weyburn when she volleyed in a Cassidy Andres corner kick for a 1-0 halftime lead. Britney Cleaveley kept a clean sheet as the Ardens struggled to score despite creating many scoring opportunites.
The floodgates opened against Estevan, led by a four-goal outing from Kaity Letwiniuk. Cassidy Andres added three goals and Emilie Erlandson chipped in a pair. Kirkpatrick added her second of the day, while Andrea Erlandson and Kelsey Therrien both netted their first career goals in just their fourth game with the Ardens. Beriah Klein and Cassandra Furey-Cameron shared the shutout in goal.
The Ardens have now outscored their opponents 22-0 in four wins to open the season.
The Ardens will host the Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits on Tuesday in a rematch of last year's championship match at 4:30 p.m. at Irwin Field.
