The Swift Current Comp. Colts soccer team finished with two wins and a loss to place third in their six-team home tournament.
The Colts opened with a 2-0 loss to Prince Albert Carlton, who would go on to suffer a 3-0 loss to Prince Albert St. Mary in the championship final.
The hosts bounced back Saturday with a 4-0 win over Estevan on goals from Carson Leifson, Allen Siwila, Mark Spetz, and Dylan Griffin.
In the bronze medal game the Colts defeated Weyburn 3-0 where Spetz put his mark on the
tournament with an amazing bicycle kick goal.
"Our team struggled in the first game against Carlton as they tried to gel," noted coach Duane Regier. "Once the team got a game under their cleats they really started to work together and perform."
The tournament gave the Colts an idea of where they stand in the provincial picture and they will be looking to knock off one of the Prince Albert squads prior to hosting regionals on October 22.
The Colts will be in Prince Albert for the St. Mary Classic Tournament this weekend where they hope to bring home a gold medal.
