The SCCHS Ardens improved to 2-0 with a win over visiting Moose Jaw Central on Tuesday.
The Swift Current Comp. Ardens were presented with a willing adversary on Tuesday and responded with a 5-1 win to move to 2-0 in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League.
The Moose Jaw Central Cyclones gave the defending league champion Ardens everything they could handle for 45 minutes but an early second-half flurry from the Ardens helped them discard the visitors.
Cassidy Andres and Emilie Erlandson scored first-half goals for a 2-1 lead after 45 minutes despite a pedestrian effort from the hosts.
The Ardens responded early in the second half with three goals in the opening six minutes to put the game away.
Katie Letwiniuk opened the scoring 45 seconds into the half, followed by goals from Sage Gowan and Brittany Schafer only two minutes apart.
Kaylie Walker and Beriah Klein shared the win in goal as the Ardens moved to 4-0 overall this season.
The Ardens will be in Moose Jaw this weekend at the 16-team Soccerfest Tournament. They will open round robin action with games against North Battleford John Paul II, Balgonie, and Regina Campbell.
