Mounties miss AUS soccer playoffs

SACKVILLE, N.B. - The Mount Allison Mounties soccer squads will not be participating in this weekend's Atlantic University Sport championships.
The men's side lost 6-1 to the Moncton Aigles Bleus on Saturday and 2-1 to the Dalhousie Tigers the next day to finish with a 2-8-3 record and in eighth place in the 10-team AUS.
Curtis Michaels scored for Mount Allison in the loss to Moncton.
The women's squad managed a 2-2 tie with Moncton on Saturday and got blanked 5-0 by Dalhousie on Sunday. Mount Allison wound up at 3-7-3 for eighth spot.
Megan Spicer scored in the second minute and Hilary Hamilton in the 21st minute. Spicer and Sara Laking shared the club lead in scoring this season, with five.
Dalhousie will host the men's championship in Halifax, and Memorial the women's tournament in St. John's, N.L.
