High school soccer qualifiers run this weekend

AMHERST - A number of Cumberland County teams are competing this weekend at Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation soccer qualifying tournaments.
On Saturday, the Amherst Regional Vikettes will host at noon the winner of a game between West Kings and Forest Heights. The winner will advance to the Division 2 girls provincial championship tournament at Central Kings next weekend.
In Division 3 play, the Springhill girls will host the winner of today's game between Bridgetown and Carrefour on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The championship tournament is scheduled for Digby.
The Pugwash boys, who won the Division 4 Northumberland regional last weekend in Pictou, will host Cape Breton Highlands on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the winner off to provincials in Halifax.
On the girls side, the Pugwash Panthers play Saturday at 1 p.m., at home against the winner of a game between Baddeck and Oxford, with the winner advancing to provincials at Armbrae Academy in Halifax next weekend.
The nine-member Advocate Coyotes are also in qualifying action this weekend in Division 4 girls action after defeating CCA earlier this week. Advocate plays North Colchester, with the winner visiting Cape Breton Highlands for the right to advance to provincials.
