Chandler soccer squads chasing regional titles

AMHERST - Less than a week after winning the Cumberland district title in thrilling fashion, the E.B. Chandler Junior High Cheetahs soccer teams hope to do it again today when they attend the Northumberland regional tournament in Truro.
E.B. Chandler, which defeated Parrsboro 2-1 on Mickey MacDonald's overtime marker, will play host Truro at 11 a.m., in hopes of advancing to the regional championship game at 3:30 p.m.
Hants North faces a team from Pictou County in the other semifinal at 12:30 p.m.
On the girls side, the Cheetahs hope to continue their dominant play today when they travel to Pictou for the regional tournament.
E.B. Chandler, which defeated Parrsboro 5-0 last Wednesday to win the Cumberland title, plays New Glasgow at 12:30 p.m., while a representative from the Northumberland area plays Bible Hill in the other semifinal at 11 a.m.
The consolation and championship games in both divisions go at 2 and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
