Springhill hosting Division 3 regional high school soccer tournament

SPRINGHILL - The Springhill High Lady Golden Eagles will host three other teams in Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation regional Division 3 soccer play on Saturday.
Springhill, Hants North, Antigonish East and Musquodoboit will be vying for the Northumberland banner and the right to host a provincial qualifier next weekend.
The second- and third-place teams will go on the road for qualifiers.
Springhill will face Musquodoboit at 9 a.m., on Saturday, with Hants North and Antigonish East meeting at 11 a.m.
The regional consolation game goes at 2 p.m., with the championship at 4 p.m., featuring the winners of the two semifinals.
In Division 3 boys action, fourth-seeded Springhill will travel to first-ranked Hants North to play at 3 p.m., today while the second seed, Guysborough, faces third-seeded Musquodoboit in Kennetcook, Hants Co., at 3 p.m. today.
The consolation game goes at 9 a.m., Saturday with the championship game at 11 a.m. The regional winner hosts a qualifier while the second and third-place finishers will advance to another qualifier.
In Division 2 play, the ARHS Vikings boys club lost 1-0 to Hants East on Wednesday and was eliminated from further play.
The Vikettes host South Colchester on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the winner taking the regional banner.
Pugwash is hosting the Division 4 girls tournament while the Pugwash boys are in Pictou. They played North Colchester yesterday afternoon while Pictou met Parrsboro in the other semifinal.
The championship and consolation games are scheduled to be played Saturday.
