Selects drop pair of games in Massachusetts

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Amherst Selects lost both of their games at the rain-shortened Nipper-Mahar Little League Baseball Tournament on the weekend.
Amherst was beaten 3-1 by Wayland, Mass., in their opener Friday, and 6-5 by Saint John, N.B., on Saturday.
The Selects' Lucas Sangster won the tournament's home-run derby. Josh Pugsley lost the baserunning competition by one second. Also competing were Emmitt Smith in baserunning, and Corey Hunter in the throwing event.
