High school teams after slopitch titles

AMHERST - Ten teams in two divisions will be seeking slopitch supremacy here today as the Robb Centennial Complex hosts the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 3 boys and girls Cumberland district championships.
Boys and girls teams from Oxford, River Hebert, Springhill, Pugwash and Parrsboro will begin play at 9:30 a.m.
In boys action, Oxford meets River Hebert at 9:30 a.m., with Springhill facing Pugwash at 11 a.m. Parrsboro faces the winner of the Oxford-River Hebert game at 12:30 p.m.
The loser of Oxford-River Hebert faces the loser of Springhill-Pugwash at 2 p.m.
The championship game is set for 3:30 p.m., with the consolation game at 5 p.m.
The top three teams advance to the Northumberland regionals next weekend.
In girls play, Springhill opens against Pugwash at 9:30 a.m., with Oxford meeting River Hebert at 11 a.m. ,and Parrsboro meeting the winner of the Springhill-Pugwash game at 12:30 p.m.
Other games are at 2, 3:30, 5 and 6:30 p.m.
The top two teams advance to the Northumberland regionals to be hosted by the tournament winner.
