AMHERST - After they both posted shutouts on Saturday, the ARHS Vikings and Vikettes will advance to this weekend's Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 2 soccer championships.
The Vikings earned the right to travel to the boys provincials in Brookfield after defeating Millwood 6-0 in Halifax on Saturday.
Scoring for the Vikings were Dwayne Ripley with two goals and Mark Harris, Brett Nuttall, Rick Caravalho and Tyler Gould with singles.
The Vikettes earned the right to travel to Cape Breton after beating Barrington in their provinicial qualifier by a score of 4-0
Kelli Burbine (two), Krystal White and Justine Landry scored in the win and Meredith Smith recorded the shutout. The girls will compete for the provincial title at the Brenton Education Centre in New Waterford on Friday and Saturday.
