AMHERST - After a disappointing weekend where they lost two out of three games, the Amherst Ramblers are looking to get back on track this weekend as they host the Truro Bearcats and the Bridgewater Lumberjacks.
"It's two big games against inter-division rivals," Ramblers coach Corey Crocker said. "We're playing Truro for the third time this year and we tend to have a big crowd out when we play them so we expect a good, exciting game."
The Ramblers go into the game Saturday night with an 8-2-1-1 record, placing them at the top of the Maurice Bent Division.
The Bearcats will come into Amherst Stadium with a 7-2-1-1 record, which puts them in fourth place in the division.
"We had some really good practices this week so the boys are definitely ready to play," Crocker added.
On Sunday, the Ramblers meet the Lumberjacks for the first time this season.
The Lumberjacks enter the weekend with a record or 6-6-0-1.
"We know a lot of players on that team and we know they'll be coming to play hard," Crocker added. They're really coming on strong lately."
Saturday's game against Truro was advertised as a 7 p.m. start but because of the municipal election the time has been changed to 8 p.m.
The puck will drop against Bridgewater beginning 4 p.m.
Jordan Escott is still racking up the points. He presently sits in second place in the MJAHL point standings with 6 goals and 13 assists in 12 games.
