AMHERST - After back to back games against one of the top ranked teams in the country, the Amherst Ramblers are not about to take one of the lowest ranked teams lightly.

The Ramblers, who were humbled 4-1 by the Woodstock Slammers in MJAHL action Wednesday, return home to face the Antigonish Bulldogs at the Amherst Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m.

"There are no easy games in this league, that's one thing I have learned in my three years here. The boys will put what happened last night behind them and move on, we'll be ready," Corey Crocker said. "We're a good hockey club and I think we've shown that so far this season. We'll regroup and get back at it and be ready for a team we're not about to take lightly."

After dropping a thrilling 1-0 shootout decision to the Slammers last Saturday, the Ramblers struggled on Wednesday lacking intensity in a three-goal loss that could have been a lot worse considering the 58-shot barrage faced by Pat O'Brien in the Rambler net.

"I would have loved to have gotten him a little earlier this season but he proved that he can play in this league," Crocker said. "He made saves that if he didn't make the score would have been a lot higher. He's such a good team player. He supports Andrew (Flemming) and Andrew supports him. They're a great tandem."

Crocker knows those games are going to happen considering how young his team is this year, but he also knows there is some veteran leadership that will step it up against Antigonish.

"These are two points we must have," Crocker said. "There a few small things that young players have to accept and learn from. They know we will have to play a physical game against Antigonish and stick to our game plan. There's some veteran leadership in that dressing room and they'll make sure everyone is ready to go."

After Saturday, the Ramblers are home again on Tuesday when they host the Truro Bearcats.
