Zane Lambert scored an 87.5 on 'Ram Rod' to clinch the title.
Westbourne, Manitoba's Zane Lambert thrilled the crowd with a pair of eight-second rides to win the Redhead Equipment Swift Current Cody Snyder Invitational PBR event on Saturday.
Lambert scored an 83.5 on 'Bottoms Up' in the Long Go and followed up with an 87.5 on 'Ram Rod' to claim the top share of the prize money in a front of a near capacity crowd at the Credit Union iplex.
"It went pretty good here in Swift Current today," said Lambert. "I got two good bulls of Kelley Armstong's I got on and they were both really, really good. This was a great little event they had here, they packed the house, I hear the cabaret is sold out, so it looks like a good night here in Swift."
"Zane has been one of the hottest bull riders in Canadian rodeo and bull riding for the last three, four years," explained Snyder. "He has been one of our top guys and he has been really hot coming in here, he won a couple of big rodeos coming into Swift Current. So he was kind of the guy to look for coming in and that bull that he rode, I don't think that bull had ever been riden before, so he made an outstanding ride. That's what you expect out of good guys. When they get into the finals they have to step up to the plate and he did that tonight."
