Regional win for Vikettes

AMHERST – It was a dominant performance. The Vikettes played twice in this week’s ARHS tournament for the Northumberland Region Division 2 Girls title. In their first game, Tuesday, against South Colchester, they won by more than 60 points. Tonight, in a battle for the tourney win against Hants East, they again demolished their rival, beating the visitors 73-27.

The eight-team provincial tournament takes place March 1 to 3, in New Waterford.

In the interim, the squad will enjoy their new title as regional champs. Coach Ellis said it was good for the girls to accomplish that goal, and to have the banner to hang from the gymnasium’s rafters.
