Amherst beats Tantramar 71-50

Maitland Ferrio scored for the Vikettes in the second half of the game

AMHERST – The Tantramar Titans were reduced in size tonight when the Vikettes beat them 71-50 in basketball action at ARHS. This evens up the season’s record for these two teams – Amherst had been trailing – with two wins each in the four times they’ve played.

Coach Gillian Ellis of Amherst was pleased with the result.

“Played good defense,” she said of her girls. “We moved the ball well…we matched their offense.”

Scoring for the Vikettes were Natasha Gouchie (15 points), Danielle Young (14), Paige Lewis (14), Lauren MacEachern (14), Jill Gould (6) and Maitland Ferrio (2).

The leading scorer for the Titans was Katie Cadman, with 23 points.
