Stewart Valley’s Dannielle Dinius held on in the final day of competition at the Canadian Cowboy’s Association Finals for her fourth consecutive win in Ladies Barrel Racing.
Dinius held off a late charge from cross-town rival Janet-Lynn Moen, edging her by just 10 points. Moen won the final performance on Saturday evening in 14.01 seconds, while Dinius finished in 14.20 seconds.
Dinius and Moen tied with 110 points but Dinius’ aggregate time of 70.58 seconds added 40 aggregate points to her total, while Moen collected 30 aggregate points for her second-place aggregate time of 70.85 seconds.
The father/son duo of Scott and Tuftin McLeod are also CCA Finals champions after winning the Team Roping event. The McLeods finished fourth on day five in 8.2 seconds and their five qualified runs in 37 seconds flat helped them clinch the title with 150 champions points.
