Dannielle Dinius continues to lead the Southwest contingent at the Canadian Cowboy’s Association Finals Rodeo in Regina.
The Stewart Valley native leads all Ladies Barrel Racing competitors with 100 champion points after day three of the five-day event. The three-time defending CCA Finals champion placed third on Thursday in 14.07 seconds for 20 points as she holds a 30-point lead over Rusty Quam for top spot.
Stewart Valley’s Janet-Lyn Moen, the CCA Finals champion in 2005, was fourth on day three in 14.14 seconds and sits third overall with 50 points.
Swift Current’s Blaine Switzer and Mankota’s Shawn Williamson are both tied for second in Tie Down Roping with 40 champion points. Switzer was second on Thursday in 7.5 seconds, while Williamson did not register a time for the second straight day after placing first on Tuesday in 8.2 seconds.
Kyle’s Chad Hantleman sits second in the Steer Wrestling standings with 55 points after a first-place finish on Tuesday and tying for third on Wednesday. Swift Current’s Dusty Caragata was fourth on Thursday in 5.3 seconds and sits third with 40 points.
Maple Creek’s Adam Gilchrist and Ross Kreutzer sit second and third respectively in the Saddle Bronc standings. Gilchrist has 55 points after a tying for top spot on Thursday with a score of 76.75. Kreutzer has 35 points after tying for second on Tuesday and placing fourth on Wednesday.
Waldeck’s Tuftin and Scott McLeod are tied for second in Team Roping with 70 points. They placed third on Thursday in 6.1 seconds for 20 points.
The CCA Finals continue tonight and will wrap up with an evening performance on Saturday.
