WENTWORTH VALLEY - Ski Wentworth closed with a splash on Easter Sunday with the aquaneige (slush skiing) competition.

"The idea is for skiers and snowboarders to cross the giant pool of water waiting for them at the end of the mountain without getting wet," general manager Leslie Wilson said.

With temperatures soaring over 20 C the aquaneige was a real crowd pleaser and had a fabulous turnout with 65 entries from ages ranging from the youngest, seven-year-old Emily Todd, to the oldest, 52 year-old Ray Lavin.

Number one skier of the day went to Dakota Coates and number one snowboarder in the event went to Tyler Sangster.

Celebrating the last weekend, Ski Wentworth held its annual Easter egg hunt, where kids ski around the mountain following a treasure hunt trail map looking for hidden Easter bunnies.

Monday was expected to be last day for skiers and snowboarders at Ski Wentworth after an excellent season, according to Wilson.

She said they are looking forward to next season where Ski Wentworth will host the Winter Canada games.
