VANCOUVER - Not this time.

Sidney Crosby scored the shootout winner on his second attempt as Canada narrowly survived another scare from Switzerland at the Winter Olympics.

The Canadians edged the Swiss 3-2 in their second game of the tournament.

Martin Brodeur stopped all four Swiss shooters. Jonas Hiller stopped three Canadian shots before Crosby finally ended the drama.

It was eerily similar to a game the two teams played exactly four years ago when the Swiss pulled off a 2-0 upset at the Turin Games.

Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau scored in regulation for Canada while Ivo Ruthemann and Patrick von Gunten replied for Switzerland.

The Canadian team received just two points for the shootout victory and sits one back of the U.S. in Group A.

Canada faces the Americans on Sunday.
