SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Kathy O'Rourke's P.E.I. rink remains atop the leaderboard after winning 9-5 over Newfoundland in Draw 15 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Thursday, the final day of round robin play.
O'Rourke scored two in the eighth to secure the win and improve her first-place record to 8-2.
Ontario's Krista McCarville, meanwhile, took sole possession of second place after defeating Nova Scotia's Nancy McConnery 7-3, improving her record to 7-3.
After dropping both her games on Wednesday and falling into a tie for second place, the win gives McCarville some distance between Team Canada skip Jennifer Jones and Manitoba's Jill Thurston, both tied in third at 6-3.
Other Draw 15 action saw Quebec's Eve Belisle (5-5) move into seventh place by edging New Brunswick 6-5. And Sharon Cormier of the Northwest Territories/Yukon won 9-5 over Saskatchewan.
