Mackintosh third in bandolero race at Lowes

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Amherst's Ryan Mackintosh placed third in a bandolero race in Charlotte, N.C., over the weekend.
The first road course race of the year inside Lowe's Motor Speedway saw Mackintosh race as the second-youngest competitor in his young guns/outlaw class.
After finishing eighth in the qualifying heats, Mackintosh placed third in the feature, held in cool temperatures.
The temperature at race time hovered around 3 C.
"It sort of felt like putting on my hockey gear," Mackintosh said in an e-mail about how cold it was while he was putting on his racing gear prior to a practice at Lowe's.
