SYDNEY, N.S. - The mayor of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality says his fight for more equalization dollars is far from over.
John Morgan says he will push ahead with a "diplomatic" effort even though the Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear his region's case against the province earlier this month.
Morgan says the municipality deserves a larger share of the federal transfer payments sent to Nova Scotia.
He says he's already met with Premier Darrell Dexter and Municipal Relations Minister Ramona Jennex.
And he says the meetings will continue in the new year.
The mayor made the comments to the Cape Breton Post in a recent year-end interview.
