Traveling from Summerside was worth it for the Summerside Owls when they took the championship with E.B. Chandler Junior High School's round robin tournament last Saturday.
The first game of the day began with Summerside beating out E.B. Chandler Cheetah's with a score of 48-39 , the next game Bible Hill Huskies beat out Oxford Golden Bears 55-41, followed by EB Chandler taking Bible Hill with a 42-36 score. The fourth game of the tournament went to Summerside with a 46-22 win over Oxford. The fifth went to Summerside when they beat out Bible Hill with a final score of 54-44.
The final game of the day went to Oxford when they beat out E.B. Chandler with a final score of 42-32.
E.B. Chandler coach Allen MacEachern said the tournament went well and was very well attended by spectators.
"The rest of the teams tied for second place," MacEachern said.
This was the second round robin tournament held by E.B. Chandler and the coach said the team is looking forward to playing in their invitational to be held at the end of January or beginning of February.
