OTTAWA - For the history buff on your shopping list this holiday season, Parks Canada suggests a one-year pass covering visits to national historic sites of Canada.
And for outdoors enthusiasts, there is the national parks pass.
The passes make popular gifts, allowing unlimited visits to participating parks or historic sites, says Parks Canada. They may also offer faster entry at some locations.
The 78 national historic sites covered range from the Fisgard Lighthouse on Vancouver Island to Cape Spear in Newfoundland to S.S. Klondike in Yukon.
The 27 parks include Pacific Rim in British Columbia, Riding Mountain in Manitoba, Kouchibouguac in New Brunswick and Gros Morne in Newfoundland.
The passes can be purchased at any of the participating parks or historic sites; or phone 1-403-292-4401.
Adult prices are $53 for a national historic sites pass, $67.70 for a national parks pass, and $84.40 for a Discovery Package that includes both passes. Passes for seniors, youths and families/groups are also available.
