Vikings hosting tip-off tourney this weekend

AMHERST - The Amherst Regional High School Vikings will host a tip-off tourney at the school beginning today and running through Saturday, with the crowning of a champion at 5 p.m.
The Vikings will be joined by the Colonel Grey Colonels of Charlottetown and Tatamagouche's North Colchester Mustangs in Division A, while the Breton Education Centre Bears of New Waterford, Pugwash and Tantramar make up Division B.
Amherst warmed up for the tournament last night at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Bible Hill with a 54-46 victory over the Windsor Warlords.
Richard Hope led the Vikings with 27 points. Sammy Mohammed added 17 points and Ryan Budd a dozen.
Amherst overcame a 30-28 halftime deficit.

2 p.m. - Amherst vs. Colonel Grey
4 p.m. - Tantramar vs. Pugwash
6 p.m. - North Colchester vs. Colonel Grey
8 p.m. - Pugwash vs. Breton Education Centre
Tomorrow
9 a.m. - Breton Education Centre vs. Tantramar
11 a.m. - Amherst vs. North Colchester
1 p.m. - Fifth-place game
3 p.m. - Third-place game
5 p.m. - Championship
