Springhill hosting tip-off tournament

SPRINGHILL - The Springhill High School Golden Eagles 15th annual Schiefer's Ultramar Tip-Off Tournament is scheduled for this weekend.
The Golden Eagles, the defending provincial Division 3 girls champions, will be joined in the four-team round-robin event by the Memorial Magic of North Sydney, Port Hawkesbury's SAERC Saints and the Hants East Tigers of Milford.
Springhill, which will host Pugwash today at 5 p.m., in its home opener, battles Memorial at 5:15 p.m., on Friday, followed by Hants East against SAERC at 7 p.m.
Saturday sees the two Cape Breton schools, SAERC and Memorial, at 9 a.m., followed by Springhill and Hants East at 10:45 a.m.
The 12:30 p.m., contest pits the Tigers against the Magic, followed by SAERC and Springhill closing at 2:15 p.m.
