Cooke racing at Motocross of Nations this weekend

TRURO - Mitch Cooke is realizing a dream this week.
The 25-year-old Brookfield resident is in Brescia, Italy to represent Canada at the 2009 FIM Motocross of Nations, the biggest race in the world.
The top three riders from 37 countries are selected to race in the event, with each collecting points for their homeland.
Cooke and his Freedom Cycle Kawasaki KX450 finished seventh in points this season on the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals circuit.
He will be joined on Team Canada by 22-year-old Tyler Medaglia (5th, 241 points) of Ottawa and Dean Wilson of Airdrie, Alta. Cooke will be competing in the open division, which combines both 450CC and 250CC machines, at the event. Medaglia will ride MX1 and Wilson will compete in MX2.
The event will be held at the Autodromo di Franciacorta, a 1,600m long, 10m wide
circuit.
