HALIFAX - RCMP are identifying a missing Nova Scotia fisherman as 39-year-old Scott Clarke of Oyster Pond.
Clarke fell off a fishing boat near Halifax harbour on Sunday morning at 2:30 a.m.
Police say the accident occurred just about four kilometres south of Devil's Island.
Search and rescue officials have handed the case over to the RCMP who will now deal with it as a missing person's case.
A news release from search and rescue says that hope for Clarke's survival "diminished considerably" after he wasn't found on Sunday.
During the search a Cormorant helicopter and two coast guard ships were joined by 13 other vessels after the man fell off the Lady Tiana.
