Mackintosh places 8th in North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Amherst's Ryan Mackintosh placed eighth in the championship round of the Summer Shootout at Lowe's Motor Speedway here Tuesday.

Delayed by heavy rain, the race featured some of the top bandolero drivers from across the United States with Mackintosh being one of 23 Young Gun drivers to participate.

Mackintosh started 16th after a poor draw and finish in his heat. He was able to gain eight spots through 20 laps of racing before 4,000 fans.

Mackintosh now moves on to race at the famed Rockingham Speedway in the Battle of the Carolinas and will be at Concord Speedway this weekend.
