One dead, four injured in major highway crash near Brookfield, N.S.

BROOKFIELD, N.S. - One person is dead and four others injured in a two-vehicle collision near Brookfield, N.S.

RCMP say one of the injured is in serious condition and was flown by helicopter to hospital in Halifax.

Two other adults and a child were taken to hospital in Truro with undetermined injuries.

The accident has backed up traffic in the northbound lanes of Highway 102 for about 25 kilometres.
