TRURO - Noah Patriquin is learning that riding his bicycle is not only fun, but it has a positive impact on his health.
The nine-year-old from Onslow Mountain was one of a few children who joined with a group of adults to participate in the Heartland Tour bike ride
"I like to bike, it's fun ... it's important to stay fit too. If not, you could have a heart attack," said Patriquin, who bikes about four times a week, regardless of weather conditions.
"It wouldn't be very good to have heart problems and I'd be scared ... exercise helps keep you healthy. I'd like to bike forever as long as my heart lets me."
The youngster was one of about 50 people, mostly adults, who participated in the cross Nova Scotia bicycle ride to raise awareness of coronary heart disease and the positive impacts of a healthy lifestyle.
