VanSnick takes checkered flag in Moncton

MONCTON - It was another good day for Amherst's Alex VanSnick in Championship Kart Racing Association action in Moncton on Sunday.
The 12-year-old picked up 88 points cruising to the Rotax Junior championship in a time of 7:23.766 to nip second-place finisher Dylan Lenentine by just over one second.
VanSnick won both 10-lap heats before the 20-lap final and was second in qualifying.
He also placed fifth in the Honda Junior division final after winning the first heat and placing second in the second heat.
Brandon Walker of Amherst was fourth in the 15-lap final whle placing fourth in the first heat, fifth in the second heat and third in the third heat.
In Honda Novice action, Alex Harrison and Connon Walker did not finish the final dropping out after seven of nine laps.
Walker was seventh in the opening heat, second in the second heat and fifth in the third while Harrison was eighth in the first and second heats and sixth in the third heat.
Racing resumes Sunday in Burlington, P.E.I.
