It's finally that time again - Nova Scotians look forward to it all year. The sun is shining more, the air becoming warmer and birds are chirping again. Spring temperatures are on the rise and this seems to make everyone smile.
Nova Scotians love camping and there are many great reasons why. Not only are there many beautiful places to see and fun things to experience when camping in Nova Scotia, being out in the wilderness can also provide health benefits. After a long, cold winter filled with hectic schedules and a lack of Vitamin D, nothing can help you relax more than a few days of camping out under the stars.
Why not get out and experience one of the world's natural wonders. Camp along Nova Scotia's Fundy Coast where there are a variety of campgrounds and provincial parks complete with all of the amenities that you're looking for. A few other things you can find in the area are: 90 meter sea cliffs overlooking the world's highest tides, kilometres of pristine coastline, fossils, old growth forests, rare plants and outstanding geological features, just to name a few.
You won't have to worry about not finding enough to do along the Fundy Coast, you may find that you won't have enough time to fit it all in! A few activities include: coastal hiking trails, tidal bore rafting, beaches, golfing, whale-watching or simply just relaxing at your site around a campfire. There is sure to be enough fun to keep everyone entertained.
Here are a few tips to ensure your next camping experience is a great one:
• Be organized so that you can find things easily
• Bring lots of food and water
• Always build your campfire a good distance away from your tent
• Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen
• Bring a first aid kit
• Bring tarps and activities in case of rain
