Four-year-old hauls in top prize at fishing derby

BROOKDALE - Four-year-old Tristen O'Blenis was the star fisherman Friday night, catching a fish 181⁄2 inches long.
O'Blenis also took top spot in the eight and younger category in the Town of Amherst's annual fishing derby held at the Pumping Station.
Following closely behind O'Blenis in the eight and younger category were Morgan Sarson at 18 inches and Matthew Kiezer at 173⁄10.
Seth George claimed the top prize in the 12 and younger category, with a catch of 171⁄4 inches.
Taylor Fitzgerald came close with 17 inches, while Chelsea Matthews and Cody Little tied for third with 161⁄2.
Markus Gogan's 171⁄2-inch catch lead the way for the 15-and-younger division, followed by Shawn DeWolfe at 161⁄4 and Kyle Rushton with a 16-inch catch.
Canadian Tire supplied the prizes for the winners.
