AMHERST - Figure skating awards were presented to members of the Amherst Skating Club on Tuesday night at the Atlantic Superstores Community Room.

Recipients were:
Canskate division
BMO Canskater of the year - Kirsten Lawrence.
BMO Canskate Champions of the year - Jayce MacLean and Jana Donkin.
Most badges passed - Seth Richard, Kirsten Lawrence, Jayce MacLean, Jana Donkin, Angelina Gouchie and Talia Fury.
Fundraiser of the year - Tamera Silvea.
Canskate Program assistant of the year - Allanah Conrad.
Canpower division
Most badges passed - Aidan Levy.
Canpower Program assistant of the year - Jamie Steele.
Junior division
Shining star - Hannah Doucette.
Twinkling star - Erika Scott.
Rocketeer - Roxanne Poirier.
Fundraiser of the year - Chelsey Gould.
Most badges passed - Roxanne Poirier.
Most tests passed - Chelsey Gould.
Senior division
Shining star - Chelsey Gould
Twinkling star - Haley Burke.
Fundraiser of the year - Haley Speight.
Most tests passed - Jadyn Soehner
Adult division
Shining star and fundraiser - Shawna Doucette.
Cub skater of the year - Jadyn Soehner
Club competitor of the year - Jadyn Soehner.
Recognition award
Margot Anderson Award - Kathy Gould.


The shining star award is a competitive award presented to athletes showing enthusiasm, participation, fundraising, a pleasant attitude and regular attendance.
The twinkling star award is a non-competitive award presented to athletes showing enthusiasm, participation, fundraising, a pleasant attitude and regular attendance.
The rocketeer award is presented who athletes who have improved the most.
