GANGNEUNG, South Korea - Angelina Jensen of Denmark improved to 6-1 at the world women's curling championship with a 7-4 victory over Italy's Diana Gaspari in Draw 10 action Tuesday.
Jensen, the 2007 runner-up, scored two points with the hammer in each of the second and fifth ends to take a 4-2 lead into the break. The teams exchanged single points over the next three ends before Jensen put the game away with two points in the ninth.
Canada's Jennifer Jones continues to lead the overall standings at 6-0. Jones, the defending champion, didn't play in Draw 10, but was set to face Sweden's Anette Norberg in Draw 11 later Tuesday.
Norberg (4-2) was involved in the stunner of the tournament in Draw 10. The two-time world champion and reigning Olympic gold medallist was crushed 10-1 by Germany's Andrea Schopp (3-4).
Germany opened up a 3-1 lead through three ends before erupting for four points in the fourth. Steals of single points in the fifth, sixth and seventh ends completed the blowout.
Schopp lost 8-7 to Jones in Draw 9 action Tuesday morning.
In other Draw 11 action, Scotland's Anne Muirhead (4-2) broke out to a 5-1 lead and held on for a 7-5 win over Switzerland's Mirjam Ott (4-3). Elsewhere, South Korea's Mi-Yeon Kim (2-4) gave up a steal of two in the ninth end but responded with a single point in the 10th to earn a 9-8 win over Norway's Marianne Rorvik (0-7).
