Defending champion Jones drops 8-7 decision to P.E.I. at Scotties curling

VICTORIA - Prince Edward Island's Rebecca Jean MacPhee edged defending champ Jennifer Jones 8-7 today to move into a four-way tie for third place at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
MacPhee, Jones, Alberta's Cheryl Bernard and Quebec's Marie-France Larouche all sit at 6-4 after 15 draws.
Bernard defeated the Territories' Kerry Galusha 8-6 while Larouche beat Manitoba's Barb Spencer 9-4.
B.C.'s Marla Mallett has clinched top spot in the round robin with her 8-1 start.
Saskatchewan's Stefanie Lawton is alone in second place at 6-3.
New Brunswick's Andrea Kelly shaded Nova Scotia's Nancy McConnery 9-8 in the other early match.
