VANCOUVER - It's a line-up made in Canadian music heaven, but it won't be music they're making.
Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy will team up with Sarah McLachlan, Alan Doyle and Sean McCann of Great Big Sea at this year's annual Juno Cup.
They'll be joined by Barney Bentall, drummer Tyler Stewart of the Barenaked Ladies, and Jesse Wainwright and Cam Melnyk of State of Shock to take on a team of retired NHLers led by former Vancouver Canucks star Cliff Ronning.
The Juno Cup game takes place at UBC Thunderbird Stadium March 27 and is part of a gala four-day celebration culminating in the Juno Awards on March 29 at GM Place.
Bob Probert, Brad Dalgarno, Dave Babych, Mark Napier, Mike Pelyk, Paul Coffey and Russ Courtnall will round out Ronning's line-up.
The money raised at the Juno Cup goes to MusiCounts, a music education charity associated with the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
